What is your mission and who do you serve?
Stark County TASC, Inc. was established in 1998 as an independent nonprofit agency. We are located in Downtown Canton, but have many satellite location offices. Stark County TASC, Inc. has roots as an agency that built communication and offender management relationships between the justice system and behavioral health treatment systems. Oftentimes, the two systems have differing philosophies and objectives. We serve to assess and link persons from the justice system to the appropriate treatment provider in the community.

Stark County TASC, Inc. has established strong working relationships with Stark County’s municipal courts, as well as, Common Pleas, Adult Parole, and Adult Probation.

After 20+ years in the community, we now provide many more services. As the needs of the community became clear, we have expanded our services to include: Youth Counseling and Case-Management, Peer Recovery Supportive Services to those addressing their substance use disorders or mental health disorders; we provide Care Coordination services to the severely mentally ill involved in the justice system; Counseling and other Supportive Services to Permanent Supportive Housing Program with the YWCA for those addressing their mental health disorder and chronic homelessness; Outreach services into high-risk communities; and Outpatient Assessment and Counseling services. We have expanded our customer base and work with the general public, no longer only serving those referred solely from the justice system.

How can someone access your services/resources? Are there any eligibility requirements?
Stark County TASC, Inc. accepts online referrals through our website, fax referrals, and those who are self-referred for substance use disorder treatment and mental health disorder treatment. We accept walk-in assessments several times per week at our Canton and Massillon office locations. We accept Medicaid, self-pay, and offer financial assistance for persons not yet enrolled in Medicaid. Our team will also assist persons who are eligible for Medicaid, enroll, and achieve Medicaid status.
