Our mission at Stark County Community Action Agency is to promote economic self-sufficiency among low-income families and individuals of Stark County.

Adults we support are those:

• Returning to the workforce after time away
• Seeking career advancement opportunities
• Transitioning to new industries
• Working to overcome barriers to employment.

We offer workforce development services to help job seekers take the next step in their career journey. Our Job Readiness Program provides resume building, interview skills, and professional development in a small cohort setting, keeping the experience personable and comfortable for every participant.

We also offer vocational training in CDL/Transportation and Healthcare, working alongside community partners to help clients earn industry-recognized credentials.

In another building we have our, remodeled Center for Education and Employment Opportunities, gives clients access to a classroom or cubicle environment, practice exams (including civil service and TABE testing), computer basics and typing courses, and a private office space available for online interviews.

We offer small cohorts with individualized coaching to ensure every participant receives focused attention. Our hands-on, practical training prepares individuals for real-world success. We also provide comprehensive support for addressing childcare, transportation, mental health, and finances.

When one person gains stable employment, families achieve financial security. Communities grow stronger. Businesses gain reliable workers. Generational cycles change.
