What is your mission and who do you serve?
Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is the State of Ohio agency whose mission is to empower Ohioans with disabilities through employment, disability determinations, and independence. We are ready to partner with you if you are working, looking for work, and experiencing challenges to employment due to a disability.

What is one thing someone might not know about your organization or is unique about your organization?
At OOD, we understand that some people who have disabilities may find it challenging to get or keep a job. We can assist eligible individuals with the following:
Choose the type of work that fits your needs.
Get training to prepare for the job you seek.
Explore work incentives, if you receive benefits.
Look for jobs and prepare for interviews.
Learn your new job.
Navigate employment through job support and retention services.

How do you work in partnership with the OhioMeansJobs Centers?
OOD works in partnership with the OMJ Centers in making sure all OOD eligible individuals get registered with their local OMJ for additional support with their job search. We also have many vocational rehabilitation counselors across the state headquartered at various OMJ Centers. In addition, OOD receives direct referrals from the OMJ Centers for persons with disabilities who would benefit from OOD services.
