Stark Library

What is your mission, and who do you serve?
Stark Library is a network of public libraries that serves as an information hub and provides diverse programming to support and meet the needs of a wide array of people in Stark County.  One of the nine largest library systems in Ohio – and the county’s oldest library – Stark Library serves the community through 10 locations, four mobile libraries, and a 24/7 digital branch. Stark Library strives to meet the needs of the community we serve and is committed to removing barriers to access and promoting learning and literacy at every stage of life.  The library is a proud partner with local school districts, community organizations, and educational partners to advance literacy, school readiness, and education in its community.

As part of our systemwide Re|imagine project, we are transforming your Library into a more inviting space to inspire and empower you to pursue creativity and lifelong learning.

Re|imagine is a multi-year plan to renovate our buildings, upgrade our technology, and create more flexible spaces for a wide range of use. After completing renovations of our nine branches since 2020, we are looking ahead to redesigning our Main Library campus.

The new Main Library in downtown Canton will be a center for learning and knowledge, and a “third space” where people gather to relax, imaginations soar, and creativity grows
