What is your mission and who do you serve?
Project REBUILD has been a pillar of youth empowerment in Stark County, Ohio, since 1999. We were established to address critical issues like low graduation rates and high unemployment of youth. Today, our core mission remains focused on providing education, work readiness training, mentorship, and holistic youth development.

Our flagship program is YouthBuild Greater Stark County (YBGSC), a nine-month paid training experience affiliated with YouthBuild USA since 2003. This program is for young people aged 16-24 facing barriers to employment, including high school dropout, low income, or involvement in the court or foster care system. YBGSC equips participants with the necessary skills and resources to succeed through education, counseling, leadership development, and graduate support. YBGSC boasts impressive results, achieving outcomes of credential attainment, employment or post-secondary placement, increased literacy and numeracy, and reduced recidivism by empowering individuals to break negative cycles

We do more than just prepare youth for jobs. What truly sets us apart is our commitment to building trusting and lasting relationships with our participants. We create a supportive environment where they can thrive in both their careers and personal lives. Through unwavering support and accountability, we empower them to take charge of their futures, pursue ambitious goals, and become leaders in their communities.

How do you work in partnership with the OhioMeansJobs Centers?
We collaborate with OhioMeansJobs to provide comprehensive support and resources to our participants. By leveraging their extensive resources, we share job listings, recruitment opportunities, training programs, and career counseling. Additionally, our collaboration offers access to a broader network of professionals and employers, enhancing participants’ chances of finding meaningful and rewarding careers. This partnership allows us to equip youth with the tools and connections they need to succeed in the workforce and their personal lives.
