From Service to Success: Events Hosted to Support Local Veterans

This Hire a Veteran Month, we hosted two impactful events aimed at honoring our veterans and providing them with the resources needed to take the next step in their careers.

Our first event, held on Thursday, November 21st, at the OhioMeansJobs Stark County center brought together veteran-friendly employers and community organizations to connect with veterans and provide valuable resources. This event created an opportunity for veterans to explore job leads, access workforce support, and learn about services designed to aid their transition back into the workforce.

On Friday, November 22nd, a pancake breakfast was hosted at Buckeye Career Center, fostering a sense of community among attendees. One of the morning’s highlights was a drone demonstration by a veteran who had utilized our services to get connected with Buckeye Career Center for drone training, and successfully launch a new career. His story served as a testament to the power of upskilling and resilience.

In addition to the breakfast and demonstration, adult education and workforce experts were on hand to share information about upskilling opportunities and career pathways.

We thank everyone who attended and contributed to the success of these events. Together, we celebrated the strength and potential of our veterans while providing them with the tools and connections to build their futures. Thank you for helping us make this Hire a Veteran Month truly meaningful!
