What is your mission, and who do you serve?
COAD4kids, is the Early Childhood Division of COAD (Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development). We are a state-funded Child Care Resource & Referral Agency that serves 10 counties in Eastern Ohio. Our office is in Tuscarawas County and we serve the following counties: Ashland, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Knox, Tuscarawas, and Wayne.
We provide technical assistance and training to ODJFS licensed child care providers. We also provide guidance and support to individuals interested in opening a childcare program, whether center-based or home-based. We provide childcare referrals for families, either by phone or using our online search tool. We have the most up-to-date information on what programs have openings, ages they serve, and what type of program they are (center, preschool, Family Child Care, etc.).
We also provide parent education classes and support and resources to families in our region. We assist prospective foster families with choosing an agency and we provide information and resources on foster, adoption, and kinship care.
COAD’s mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families in Appalachian Ohio.

What is a successful outcome for your organization?
Many of our counties are desperate for more licensed childcare providers. If people are looking for a job who may be good candidates to provide child care in their home, please send them our way!
