2025 Alliance Area Career Fair Sparks Connections Between Job Seekers and Hiring Companies

The Alliance Area Career Fair, held on Thursday, April 3rd, was a success. Bringing together 51 employers and approximately 100 job seekers for a day filled with opportunities, connections, and career growth. Thanks to the collaboration of key community partners, including the University of Mount Union, Alliance Ohio Chamber of Commerce, and Alliance Area Development, the event was able to shine a spotlight on local job opportunities while fostering strong relationships between businesses and potential employees.

The event, held at the Timken Physical Education Building on the beautiful campus of the University of Mount Union, provided the perfect setting for employers and job seekers to meet and network. The spacious venue allowed for smooth navigation and comfortable interaction, contributing to the overall positive atmosphere of the event.

A special thank you goes out to Rick Baxter, who represents the Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce and also serves as a member of the Stark Tuscarawas Workforce Development Board (STWDB). His dedication to strengthening the workforce in the Alliance area was instrumental in the event’s success.

Employer, Sunflower Substitutes made a job offer on the spot during the fair, highlighting the real-time hiring potential that career fairs provide. They shared, “We enjoyed connecting with students and growing with the community. It was a great opportunity to meet qualified candidates from Mount Union, as well as future talent interested in joining our team. We’re excited to return and meet more students in the future!”

Employers were equally positive in their feedback, noting the smooth organization of the event and quality of candidates they met throughout the day.
