OhioMeansJobs Stark and Tuscarawas Counties will be celebrating Ohio’s In-Demand Jobs Week, May 7-11, 2018 with an “Employable Me – Getting and Keeping a Job” special workshop and the 2018 Tuscarawas County Job Fair. In-Demand Jobs Week is a state wide celebration of jobs, industries and skills that are in-demand in Ohio. In-demand jobs are those that have a sustainable wage and a promising future based on the projected number of openings and growth.
“Employable Me – Getting and Keeping a Job” Workshop Scheduled for May 8th and May 9th:
OhioMeansJobs Centers in Stark and Tuscarawas counties are presenting a special workshop to help individuals overcome their barriers to employment and get a job. “Employable Me – Getting and Keeping a Job” workshop will be held Tuesday, May 8th at 822-30th Street NW in Canton, and Wednesday, May 9th at 1260 Monroe Street in New Philadelphia. Both sessions will be held from 10am-12:30pm. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required.
Job search tips and a 10-step process for overcoming barriers to employment will be discussed. Included in the workshop will be a panel discussion with human resource professionals from local companies. Panel members will discuss what they are looking for when they hire new employees, and answer audience questions about job searching and overcoming barriers.
2018 Tuscarawas County Job Fair Set for May 11th
OhioMeansJobs Tuscarawas County is teaming up once again with U.S. Congressman Bob Gibbs, WJER Radio, the Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce and Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, Inc. to present the 2018 Tuscarawas County Job Fair, Friday, May 11th from 11am to 2pm at the Monroe Centre at 1260 Monroe Street in New Philadelphia. Area job seekers will have the opportunity to meet face to face with 75 employers representing manufacturing, health care, service industries, retail, food service and sales with job openings in both Stark and Tuscarawas counties. Veterans and their families are encouraged to attend.
Job seekers are urged to dress appropriately and bring a current resume to the job fair. Resume writing assistance and other job search resources to prepare individuals for the job fair are available at OhioMeansJobs Centers in New Philadelphia and Canton Monday through Friday from 9am to 4:30pm.
